5EBI has a rich history of people who have dedicated their hearts and souls to growing and supporting the community nature of our radio station.

1970s History

The 1970s was the start of something special ... the launch of 5EBI with just 5 ethnic groups, first broadcasting out of the 5UV studios. This was followed by a busy decade of growth, including multiple moves of broadcast location as the number of Ethnic Groups broadcasting grew dramatically.

1980s History

The 1980s saw a rapid growth to 47 broadcasting groups, in 5EBI's brand new studios in Byron Place ... plus the introduction of an Outside Broadcast Van to enable mobile broadcasting at Community Events.

1990s History
